The Albanian Riviera unfolds south of Vlorë through Llogara, Palasë, Dhërmi, Vuno, Himarë, Qeparo, Borsh and onward toward Sarandë. The scenery changes constantly, but the Ionian Sea remains the thread connecting every stop.
A rental car gives you the freedom to stay for a swim, climb to an old village or continue until you find the right sunset. Plan fewer bases and explore nearby bays from each one—the coast is far more enjoyable when it is not rushed.

The Riviera rewards patient driving. The main coastal route is scenic but can be busy, winding and slower than expected, while many beach roads and village lanes have limited space.

For most Riviera trips, a dependable compact or midsize car is more useful than an oversized vehicle. Choose enough space for your passengers and luggage while keeping narrow streets and busy beach parking in mind.
